Clare Valley shiraz McRae Wood 2005

A deep youth ruby with intense fruity nose, good forward acidity and developed aftertaste.

A ripe raspberry aroma immediatly after the bottle opening could be suggest a merlot, but the maturity of the fruit in aftertaste combined with the american oak notes of red pepper and the acidity at the beginning points to an australian shiraz.

The aftertaste suggest also the age of the wine (2005) wich at the colour could be younger. The texture and the balance indicates a good wooden quality wines, salty impression suggest near the seaside.

"Mint and menthol on the nose, ripe and rich black fruit concentrate on the palate. Pure, powerful but quite hot on the finish. (RH)" da jr
